
The 162 sub-national officials (15 female) which including provincial and district facilitator teams, technical support officers, the provincial safeguard focal points, local administration advisors, and the infrastructure advisor were invited to the training courses organized in the four targeted provinces clusters: (1) Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Kampot and Koh Kong, (2): Kampong Speur, Kandal Takeo, Prey Veng Svay Rieng, Kampong Chhnang and Pursat, (3): Kratie Kampong Cham Stung Treng Ranakiri and Moldulkiri, and (4): Siem Reap Kampong Thom, Preah Viheah, Otdor Mean Chey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Pailin.
The presentation of the trainers focusing on the practical works regarding to environment, land acquisition and highland people the safeguard procedures, exercise assignment linking with practical experience and theories, group discussion, question and answer comprehension via questionnaires, and sharing knowledge and experience among the participant, were the training methods conducted in the four training courses.
Base on the evaluation at the end of the training courses, the trainees satisfied with the trainings. They have gained knowledge on environment, land acquisition and highland people safeguard procedure since all the presentations were linked between principles and the real practices raised by all trainees. The evaluation also reflected that the detail presentation in the training courses made the trainees gained clearer understanding if compared to the previous year trainings.
Environment, land acquisition and highland people safeguard team of the NCDD Secretariat strongly hope that the provincial and district level safeguard officials will apply knowledge, lesson learned and experience in their works more effectively, and share them with other officials.
