• Location: Prey Veng and Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia
• Duration: 7 years from 2004 till 2010
• Funding source: IFAD 15.5 million, Government, PSDD, and WFP
• Beneficiary: 120,600 households who is living below poverty line.
I. Project Objective
Poverty reduction of 120 600 households with the active participation of the poor, through:
- Improved livelihoods,
- Strengthened capacity,
- Sustainable farming systems and natural resource management
- New and/or rehabilitated infrastructure development
- Increased access to technology, services and markets for their economic and social development.
II.Project Component
There have 3 components:
1 - Agriculture Development Component
- Livelihood Improvement Groups (LIG)
- Farming Systems Improvement (FSI)
- Improvement of Agricultural Support System (IASS)
- Natural Resource and Environmental Management (NREM)
2 - Local Development Component
- Commune Rural Infrastructure Investment
- Support to Commune and Village Organizations
- Technical Contracts
3 - Institutional Support Component

1-Commune Rural Infrastructure Investment have invested on
- Rural Transport
- Irrigation
- Education
2-Support to Commune and Village Organizations on
- Commune Investment Plan and Commune Development Plan
- Vocational Training
- Organize Local Community Base Organization (LCBOs) for O&M infrastructure.
3-Technical Contracts
- Feasibility studies of potential irrigation schemes in the two provinces;
- A groundwater survey in each province; and
- A continuation of the groundwater monitoring programmes
